If you mean on the lower left corner next to the start button, then just drag it to there. That's it!!!

program have to be written with systray support or you have to have a program that can launch another program to the tray, to my knowledge there is no easy way to do it.

Oh and just so you know that is called the system tray.

put it in your startup folder or go to msconfig and enable the entry.

Sorry for not replying for so long. I was without internet access.

How do I use msconfig to create the system tray icon? I tried putting it in my startup folder to no effect.

If I need a special application to create the icon where can I find a free (and LEGAL) program that will do that.

As for why I need it: I have several applications that manage other applications. It's a pain to have to move windows around to find them on the desktop and I'm so loaded with software that using the start menu is not much easier.

Usually for most programs, when you install them, they add an entry to the startup in msconfig. Not all programs thou. What programs do you need to run? Is there an option to send it to the taskbar?
