system usage prob

Hey folks,...recently, when I start up my pc, it has really been slow after boot. What I mean is that after everything is loaded, and I am usually at 99% idle, something is still going. It is called wmediaplayer.exe in the processes list, so I assume it is something with Windows Media Player,...but when I run media player, it process is and should be wmplayer.exe. I let me pc sit for a few minutes after startup and it never went away. My pc shouldnt take long (specs in sig) I usually boot and am done loading everything at less than 40 sec. Upon futher investigation, wmediaplayer (the problem) is listed to run at boot in my regitery. So what is that and what does it do? Can I just delete that registry command? I have ended the process through task manager and had no problems. What is the deal?

I would suggest running ad-aware and hijack this and poost your hijack this logs to a forum for review. Also check your anti-virus definitions and run a virus scan.
