what is system restore for?

if you messed up the system or if a virus got onto the comp and you cant fix it
System Restore


My computer uses 1.5A-load, .8A-idle, .65A-standby, .05A-turned off on 125V.

it actually sucks everytime i get a virus it does nothing except waste 3gb of space and when i have to remove a virus i have to disable system restore and lose all data on it anyways, including my restore points. system restore is a joke it only works in cases when you don't need it
