I'm trying to do a systems recovery on my pc and it won't finish.It will stop at 76% and shut off.My operating system is Windows XP.An when I try to start my computer up it says a Windows file is missing and to reinstall Windows using the disk that came with my computer.I would do this but my computer did not come with a Windows disk.

do you know any one with a xp disk the same home or pro as yours that you can use to do a windows restore with?

What make and model system are you running there? If the recovery partition hasn't lost anything there you may still be able to create a set of recovery disks. But you first need to see Windows running again. The alternative is ordering a set of disks from the manufacturer with the serial number and other product information.
