Default system idles at 20-30%

hey i have a 2.8 ghz dual core processor and it idles at around 20-30% any idea of how i can lower this.

what does msconfig look like? the startup tab?

when you kill explorer.exe what does it go to?

if i kill the explorer it makes my desktop go away and bottom bar and leaves me with just the task manager then i have to manualy start it by running explorer.exe.

oh my bad didnt realize what u ment. but it still idles at the same wen the explorer is not running.

post a screen shot of the task manager so I can see what is taking it up

make sure you expand it so i can see all of them
