System Idle Process Question

Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 only. This is a process which runs on each CPU in your PC/Server and whose sole purpose is to total up the amount of time when the processor is not doing anything. In Task Manager (Task List) this process usually accounts for the majority of processor time.

Mine is running at 16k at the moment. What is your running at?

ack, just got spammed with links >=(

The process itself uses only 16k in ram.. and that is that..

You might have something else running that don't need to be. Go to msconfig and see how many startup items you have checked. The only one you really need is your antivirus. Run spybot and adaware if needed.

I've already checked the msconfig, only my antivirus, firewall, and antispy programs are checked in the start up.
