Default Symantec Norton Ghost

I have an external hard drive that has corrupt partition tables. The data is extremely important, and I need to recover it.

What I wanted to know is, if i use Symantec Norton Ghost, does it ghost the partition tables across too, or does it recreate them?

If not, does anyone know of any program that is available that can fix the partition tables?

Thanks in advance!
