Hey, guys. I recently got a 250GB hard drive to replace my current 30GB hard drive. I used Acronis Disk Director Suite to copy my Windows XP partition to the second hard drive, but I got a problem when booting... I almost got to the Log In screen, (where the screen goes blue and shows the Windows XP logo) but that was as far as I could get. The logo would just sit there. After a half an hour of waiting, I figured it wouldn't boot, so I turned it off. Same thing in Safe Mode.

So, I was wondering... Is there a program that's made to copy entire hard drives or operating systems onto new hard drives? Apparently, Acronis doesn't work properly, and that was all I knew of.

Thank you,

hook up both drives one on slave one on master. and then you will need to install a fresh copy of windows on the new drive and then you can just copy the files from the old drive on to the new one.

is your 250 gig hdd sata? you can't copy sata to ide or vice versa. if they are both ide drives, run windows repair
