Successfully downgraded to Windows98 from Millennium, but.....

I created a startup disk for ME through the Control Panel's add/remove feature. This boot disk got me into DOS where I was able to upload from my Windows98 CD set, but now the registration process is not accepting the "Authenticity Numbers" or key numbers that came with the Windows98 on my first computer. Any way around this?

Simply no, cant think of one. I thinks its going to be a format job. But have you tried the win me CD key in place of the win 98 cd key?????????

The ME set was mis-placed when we moved two years ago. Thats why I had to make a new startup disk for Me before I could load Win98.
