Stupid question time

Stupid question time, when using virtual machines and you put different OS's on your physical machine, I am not physically storing each OS on my PC am I?


Also, if I am and I uninstall MS virtual PC from my physical PC, the HD space is freed up as well, correct. If someone could answer that, I would appreciate it.


Another question, I have an external HD in which I want to install MS Virtual PC on. I have 4 OS's in which I want to set up on it. I want to make sure everything related to MS virtual PC is placed on my external HD.

I currently have the set up executable on my external HD. Once I click on it, will it install it on that external HD or somewhere else? If it is somewhere else, how can I prevent that so it will be on my external HD?

1) You are still writing files to a disk.
2) install VPC to your C: drive but store the VM files on the external drive.
