Ok say i have a prog on my computer and lost the disk how do i make it an install file again if possible? i.e. to put on a new computer.

edit: oh yeah still have the cd key on record

There is no physical way to reverse the program and output it to an installation file again.

However, in some instances you can transfer the program to another machine, even if you dont have the install files. It requires a data-transfer program such as AlohaBob's PC Relocator for example:

This program can take some installed programs and re-install them on another machine, sometimes it does not even require product key entry again. It moves the program folder along with all the registry settings. What prog are you trying to transfer/backup?
