Default stuck on 800x600 and 4 bit color AGHH!!

--------Hey newbie here of course, first post. Here we go

I'm pretty good with computers, except I have this problem that's driving me crazy. Just sprung up when i restarted my computer ont time. Here's the rundown:

-My screen size is set on 640 x 480 although I can bump it up one to 800 x 600, no higher.
-Color quality is stuck on lowest [4 bit] and won't budge. I can try, but the awful scheme remains.

Here's where it got interesting, I ran ad-aware se personal [my latest] several times and mcaffee has been up and running the entire time. I rebooted in safemode and my colors and resolution are NORMAL! It's like they switched function but I really am in safe mode. This problem is one big annoyance and then some... hope there's a resolution in sight. Please help!

Send a message via AIM to beedubaya

Try un-installing and re-installing your video card drivers.
