Strange flash 8 problem.

Whenever I enter or exit an object, the little dashed-lined box that either blows up or shrinks down from the object (when you double click it) to show you are entering it or exiting takes about 5 seconds to go, and the whole program freezes up while it does that. This dramatically slows down my work flow, and I'm not sure how to fix this. My computer is good enough that it shouldn't be doing this (dual core, 512 mb vid memory, 2gb ram, etc.).

Any ideas?
