As of about a week ago my HTPC has had a strange problemo. First a little info

I'm running vista64
I have a Sony Blu Ray Drive and a regular Sony DVD drive
I use a few different programs for playing videos, WMC, WMP11, VLC and or PowerDVD 8... and now to the problem.

For the past week when i play a DVD with either drive the video is perfectly fine, the previews and title menu appear and sound perfectly fine but when it gets to the main feature the sound does the strangest thing.

While using VLC WMC or WMP The conversational Audio simply does not play. What i mean is like during the main feature, the backround music plays as normal, the sound effects play as normal but anything that comes out of a humans mouth in the movie is muted completely.

Oddly enough everything runs fine in powerDVD at least today it does... but yeah, i don't always like to use that... i have had enough frustration with that software. Also other video media, DivX, WMV, AVI and MPEG4s all run fine with full quality and sound. Also playing DVD files with VLC that i have ripped work fine.

Any Ideas? Input greatly appreciated
