Steam games won't load up with vista

I just installed vista ultimate. It kept all of my programs and everything. But when I click on a game, nothing loads. It says loading counter strike for 3 seconds, disappears, then nothin happens. This happens for all of my steam games. Pleasehelp, thanks!

Have you reinstalled Steam? Plus i dont think this is hardware related. I was just playing CS:S on Vista ultimate earlier today. So i know it works...

Its not just CS:S, its ALL steam games. Should I try to re install steam?

I would try that first. As i have played Peggle and other games on Steam and they all work for me. :S

Contact Steam. That is your best option. If a reinstall of the app didnt work.

I've checked their forums thoroughly and installed the vista updates in a thread I found, but only 1 of the udaptes worked, the other 2 said my system doesnt need it. Please help! Do u have an aim screen name? It will be WAY easier to talk. My screen name is Braz989. Im me.

There is nothing more i can do. Have you updated to SP1 for Vista? I am running that.

Start>run>winver

That will give you all the info on the system. Also can go Start>Right click on Computer>Properties

It will sy right there is you have SP1 isntalled.

BTW i dont use AIM. Never liked it. Sorry.
