Default Staying logged into aim while in Sleep/Standby mode?

Is it possible? i have tried the "Do NOT allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" referring to the network adapter and it still logs me off AIM. The main reason i ask is because the freakin lights on the front of the X-Dreamer II are like 1,000,000 candlewatt spotlights and i can't sleep with them on
