start menu - all programs

When i go to start menu and then all programs, my programs are in columns but I wanted to make it into a list where i can just scroll down. How do i do that?

rightclick taskbar and select properties

then after clicking the start menu tab at top, click customise start menu button

then click the advanced tab inside of that and scroll down to find the checkbox 'scroll programs'
