SSD Firmware update issues. -Vista 32-

I've been trying to update the firmware version on my rig so I can get my SSD to work correctly, and every time I go to run the disc, I get almost all of the way through it and it tells me "Invalid SSD, firmware could not be updated." ???????

It's an OCZ Vertex 30g, btw. I've tried registering on the OCZ boards, but I never received a confirmation email to activate the account.. And it wasn't in my junk filter either.

Ideas??

When I updated the firmware on my OCZ 120GB Agility SSD it gave me a error message. But when I ran CrystalDiskInfo it shows my drive as being flashed and Windows 7 shows Trim as working.

I flashed the disc and it still gave me the error.. I'll try that Crystal Dew program tonight probably.

It won't flash your drive, but it will tell you the firmware version and the Drive's State of Health

Con someone interpret this for me..

The firmware says .P97, I need the 1.4..

Make sure you have your controller in IDE mode, NOT AHCI mode or it will fail. Also, make sure no other drives are plugged in and that the SSD in in the first SATA port.

Mine shipped with 1.4 on it, so I never had to update it, but my Intel SSD was a PITA to get updated. Also, don't trust CDI for TRIM information on the Indilinx drives.

Ok.. This darn drive is about to get RMA'd or returned for an Intel.. Working on the 3rd ISO boot disc that has not produced ANY result.. keeps tellin me "Invalid SSD" Gonna try ANOTHER iso from the OCZ site..

-=EDIT=- crap.. Can't RMA the drive.. NE account site says 'Not illegible.' They said on the site that if the error reads INVALID SSD that something is 'stuck' internally in the drive. .....Great... Don't tell me I'm stuck with it.

I GOT IT!!

After the 6th try.. Wiper didn't work, FW 1.10 isn't available. the 'newest' version of 1.41 didn't work.. Rolled back to 1.3 and it TOOK! Then booted the 1.41 disc andf that updated as well! HECK YEAH!! I'm ready to ROLL NOW!!!

I think I'm gonna install Vista now.. (No Win7 Yet, spent that $100 on the drive..LOL)
