squeaking sound

my computer will give out a high pitched squeaking sound and then freeze up...

whats going on???

i have a p111 with win 2000 and a terrible maxtor drive

open her up, find out whats squeaks.

if its the drive, try to get a rma under warrenty.

probably bearings somewhere. either in the HDD or a fan, but from the description, sounds like the HDD.
