The only one I use is Ad-Aware:

It is very reliable, and free for personal use. I tried SpyBot S&D; it did find a few extras, but nothing worthwhile.

Microsoft's...BLEH. Useless in my opinion.

Re: Tyler1989
AVG has a free version--yep, right here:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
or direct download link:
http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg71free_362a652.exe

(It's at the bottom of the page.)

I myself use Window's Firewall, AVG Antivirus, and once every few months I will run Ad-aware. But I usually have nothing...

The main things those programs pickup are cookies...spyware is almost always the end-user installing free software of some sort, which ends up having it within (not all! of course)...

But yeah...that's me:p

the yahoo toolbar anti-spy picks up alot of spyware! I was suprised by how much spyware i had on my system :O

If you ask me, anti-viruses do more damage then good :-( all my system32 files are 'viruses' you see, but i go with AdAware SE and a firewall (Not m$ bullshit) and my pc is quite happy :)

Microsoft's firewall is ~ok~, as it just does a simple task of not permitting programs/ports without being authorized...and it's free, hah.

Anti-virus is good 99% only for downloads (how else will you get a virus on your computer...while using a firewall!)

Adrenalin, what anti-virus do you use? Never heard of all sys32 files being 'viruses'..................

i had just installed the norton internet security 05, and im using the firewall it comes with, as well as the virus protection. I wish i had the anti-spyware edition though.. :(
