Spooler Error, dont know if this has been posted

So about 2 months ago, i attempted to print something and out of nowhere i get a "operation could not be completed, the printer spooler service is not running." It was googled - i attempted to start it again through the Computer Managemet > Services and Application> Services> Print Spooler. It shows that it was on automatic however and even when i restart it - i get the same results.

I then went on to uninstall my printer (EPSON stylus Photo R340)
and too this day i still hav yet to solve this problem i can't add a printer because I get the same message " Operation could not be complete, printer spooler service is not running"

Any suggestions\ Fixes would be appreaciated - thanks.
