Hi All,

Is it possible if you have a big file like 7gbs or more as an .ISO to split it into 2 files so you can store it on 2 4.7gb DVD disks?

Thank you for any help

File is 5.83gbs disk size

The only way to do that would be to split it up with WinRar.

Can winrar split the ISO image directly, or will I need to use something like ISObuster to make an exact image of the disk and then manually split? I hope that makes sense, I'm pretty new to all this.

use win rar to compress the file, and in the create archive options, should be able to set splitting.

WinRar will compress and zip up the ISO. When extracted it will still be a ISO format.

WinRar is free. Why not get it?

7Zip is alright but it isnt as highly supported as WinRar.

I personally found it more annoying than helpful, and I dislike the GUI. Also because I practically live on sourceforge projects lol.

I dont even use the WinRar GUI. I can use the right click for everything WinRar does. From creating archives to extracting them. ;)

I compressed the file using Winrar, but how the heck can I split it????

Disk File size compressed is still well over 4.7gbs
