Hi,

I'm having trouble uninstalling an app that includes a Windows service.

I've gone through the various solutions related to this issue on Google but haven't found anything.

The first time I tried to uninstall the app it blew chunks.

Now I can't uninstall it nor install a new version.

I've tried to fix this manually through the registry but apparently I've missed something.

When I try uninstall the app I get the error "Error 1001. The specified service already exists."

The service is nowhere to be seen using the shell SC command.

Must be something in the registry.

Any help?

Thanks a lot!

chris

Have you killed all services related to the app(s) in device manager prior to trying to finally uninstalling the app?

It could be that it is related to more than 1 Windows service and that those services are still running.
