Hey i'm new to this site, but not to technology. I'm here because my previous sites got shut down. Anyhow, after having SP2 for XP for months its starting to get annoying. i would like to know if there are any registry changes i can make or something i can do to get my computer to stop reminding me to keep my computer up to date or that my virus protection is unknown.

start, run, type services.msc

double click security center. set it to manual. this way the firewall will still stay on, but you won't see that nagging icon

very easy go to microsoft securty center in control panel.. then click on or off for the firewalls,virus , updates and on the left side of the screen it will say " Change the way security center alerts me'' click their and uncheck the settings their
