sp2 prob

i was downloading sp2, i downlaoded fine, then halfway thro installing it said 'access denied' and closed and unistlled it all

why?

check to see if you have admin rights in control panel | User Accounts. Under you username it should say computer administrator.

yea it says computer administrator, any other ideas?

run disk cleanup, delete temp files & temp inet files.

or try installing through windows update site, i think there's some pre-reqs you need.

well i this have done a fresh install of xp, reformated to, 1gb ram and 3.4ghz, so i geuss i got the requirments, and i downloaded through windows update, so it was the windows website, where elese can i get it from? will that help?

It's a legit copy of windows, right? You usually can't install SP2 on "special" copies or the Corporate Edition.

you can slipstream it with autostreamer even on "special" copies of xp

no my xp cd is not 'special' its totally legit, im gonna try it agin, ive done a defrage, disk check, scan disk......any other ideas
