hi

i have some FLAC files. i dont have nero so i decode them to mp3 wma. does it loose sound quality when i do this? should i DL nero so that it can play and burn FLAC?

The sound quality degrades becase the FLAC codec, which stands for Free LOSSLESS Audio Codec, is exactly what it says it is; it rips tracks and reatains the EXACT same audio quality, which results in a large file. Other codecs, like mp3, reduces the file size by removing some elements of the track (like higher pitched sounds, etc.), thereby making it easier to fit more tracks onto a given disc or audio device, hence the sound quality degredation.
