Sound problem - please help

thanks guys it worked. i got another problem which is much more minor. my speakers wont turn on. it could be because i plugged them into wrong place in box. where should they be plugged into?

most of the time they go into the "Green" input.

Ok, i got 2 plugs one gos into speakers and another gos into the case, (green plug) is this what it should look like? cus it still wont turn on

Do you have a power light on you speakers ?

Edit : Do you use onboard sound or a sound card?
Make sure you machine doesn't have both enabled.

and yea i use soundcard . how do i check fi they both enabled?

Are you on a sound card or the onboard sound ?

i use soundcard im pretty sure.

Are you running Digital sound ?
Have you enabled digital sound in the advanced properties ?
Have you tried all the green audio ports on either parts?

sorry like i said my knowledge on computers is very limited so i dont know what most of that stuff is
