Where is the 'hardware sound acceleration' slider in vista. I remember it was in dxdiag in XP but it seems they've moved it in vista.

thanks in advance

If i am not mistaken they removed that in Vista.

It's not seen with DX10. The hardware acceleration slider is generally seen in the hardware properties like that seen with the older AGP cards seeing their own graphics acceleration slider there.

The dxdiag tool in Vista simply scans for all MS digitally signed drivers and then simply displays the results in each tab. It should either show no problems or may point to a specific device driver that not pretested at MS labs.

no hardware acceleration in vista. you have to get a creative card with openal for that

I have the Xtreme Gamer Creative model here and don't see any sliders except on the mixer and equalizer in the volume control panel. In fact the only other sliiders seen are those in the speaker properties.
