trying to remove Zonealarm entrys think I messed something up as I also installed sygate at which point that stopped my net access so I did a restore point. And now my pc takes ages to get into windows. When the windows loading bar comes up it goes across at least 30 times maybe before it goes into windows.

you should check msconfig>startup and disable everything but your av

I did that even disabled my AV, I`ll do a complete virus scan tomorrow too just to make sure. If worst comes to worse I`ll reinstall XP takes me about 3 hours to get my pc back to were it is now so not too bad.
