Ok not sure how to xplain this.

i have an old HP Pavilion 7885.
This has a recovery cd with winme. it does not have a hidden partition.

I have added an 250 gb WD. instaled xp upgrade and and that service pack 2.

im also building a new pc.

so im thinking when the new pc is up. ill move all files from the wd to the new pc.

Then remove the original 40 G 5200 hp hdd. And instal the 250wd 7200 . with the xp cd i have for the new pc. and use the key from the xp upgrade cd.

So wil the upgrade key work when i use the other cd. (upgrade xp wont instal without winme on)
or are the key's bound to the cd.

wil i notice any dif. using a 7200 hdd instead of the old 5200 (or was it 5400?)

And wil this old HP work with a clean xp. or do i have to use that crapy recovery with winme? And what happens if i use this recovery on the WD disk?

This pc is gona be used only for hosting my hub.

are u refering to the xp key.

i heard that before. but can i use the xp key from the upgrade cd. when im instaling from a full version cd.
(the key for the fullversion cd i gona use on the new pc)

i was thinking right now. Do i realy need a 7200 hdd when i just gona run a hub? I just got this thougt that i wont need it. Kinda not worth using 250GB for win xp and hub soft. nothing more.

The is it posibel to take the 250 gb hdd out. and in to the new pc. and stil keep the video and img files?
