Simple/stupid server question

I was just wondering why, if you delete something off of a server, it doesn't go to the recycle bin of the server. People in my company often accidently delete folders/files off the server. We are able to recover most from tape-backups. I was just wondering how that works, and why files don't go to the recycle bin like they do on a personal PC.

do you mean deleting things from network drives? .... Feature of Microsoft windows.
