Should I upgrade OS

My laptop is currently running with Vista Home Premium, and I hate it.

I much preferred windows XP but im not prepared to downgrade, whilst money issues mean I can't simply rush into upgrading to Windows 7.
I would rather stick with vista which I dislike as it is, than pay to upgrade to 7 and dislike that just as much.
Is it worth the money and is it actually a good operating system.

Also I've never really tried any other type of OS like linux or OSX so I wouldn't really find it best to do that either.

My laptops specs to be sure that 7 would run efficiently:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor TK-57 1.90 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
HDD: 150 GB

Get 7 when you can and yes it is GOOD.
