just wonding if you guys know of any cool shells to run on windows xp. also how to install them. i did it some time ago in school but its been a while

I used lightstep for a while and liked it, but it was a bit buggy. I tried BB4win (blackbox for windows) too and never found it to my liking. The installer basically does everything for you in regards to gettign the shell actually running, but there is generally a lot of customizign to do once the shell is installed.

I've heard some about TortoiseSVN, I downloaded it, but I haven't got a chance to see what it's about. You can read a lot about it, and I'm sure you can find many more through google. I've just googled a bit and came up with:

Note to be careful though, a lot of shell replacement programs also integrate their own programs into it, or spyware, etc.. However, something as simple as TortoiseSVN doesn't add any extra, just a few functions.
