Setting Transmission Volume Minimum for Microphone

Hey,


I am looking to set a minimum volume limit for transmission on my microphone to cancel out background noise. Basically, what I want it to do is to not transmit any sound until the sound is above a certain threshold.


I already have a directional microphone that is able to pick up my voice when I am speaking and cuts out other noise, but when I am not speaking, the background noise comes in.


Any help would be appreciated, whether it is settings, additional software or additional hardware.

Have you run the Configure Microphone setup from Control Panel > Sound > Recording ?

Thanks, for getting back to me, I appreciate the suggestion.

From the recording tab the best I am able to do is adjust the mic's volume and boost, but unfortunately that will cause all sounds to be dampened
