setting a last good configuration

Hi
I have had problems in the past with installing this onboard ethernet controller. I have to install the driver a number of times, before it finally starts working.
Can you tell me how to save the configuration, and if it happens again, can i go back to a configuration where it has accepted the driver/ or the driver is loaded.
