Which service if disabled would slow computer to a crawl?

He found what he needed to fix for his computer in the end of that page. Try what he did and if that does not work you can reload windows over the top and all of the settings should be returned to normal. You will not loose any information or any programs by going over the top for an install.

Yea I know what he did , he changed the value for a service within the registry but which service was it.

are you sure it is a service that is causing the problem?
you might want to try running Spybot to try and fix the problem
