Seen in Processes but not Applications

Whenever I use nView to change desktops, whatever is on the taskbar disappears (lets say I have mIRC open) but if I CTRL ALT DEL its still open under the processes tab. What can I do to get it back open without having to restart the program, losing what I have open?

Look at the bottom right of your screen by the time. There should be little icons for some of those programs.

I know what the system tray is, and no, they arent there. It disappears from the task bar and from the applications tab in the Task Manager, but stays in the process tree.
