Secure NSA 7 Pass Alternative Program..

At the Minute am Useing CCleaner NSA 7 Pass Secure Wipe for the Hard Drive and Memory Sticks, can any One Recomend a Good Alternative.. Not sure what the Pro's and Con's are, But av Read that Microsoft Systems can be Messy to Steralize.. Unlike a Linux System were a think they are in a Leuge of their own..

At the Minute am Running Win 7 - SP1, with CCleaner 3.12.1572

do you wipe them using these tools for security reasons?

I just use a zero fill utility, works for my needs.
Zero filling basically overwrites data and fills all the space with 0s, which usually makes things unrecoverable or very hard to recover. few utilities to do that but bear in mind you can void warranty on drives if done improperly. some hardware manufacturers would allow you to zero fill using disc utilities, WD for example used to.

some people say to run a zero fill 2 or 3 times for a great effect and most commercially available recovery tools have trouble getting anything back. but lets face it, the men in black might have something better

or you can take a magnet to them ;p
