Search result problem

It could be due to the default language you have installed. Maybe the website doesnt support English as it might be a foreign site and can only be seen with that language set as the default region.

yea, that's true as far as i know as well. In this case however, I'm kind of in doubt as to whether google search results from Google english is using a different language setting. It works well with another the other 2 desktops computer of mine.

Post a hijackthis log, Ive never seen this issue before but I have seen search issues before and when removing certain entries from hijackthis, everything returns to normal, not guarantee anything but its worth a shot.

I have had this issue several times before. Even on machines that it worked on other than the one i currently was. They may have the support for that language while the machine you are on doesnt. Just because your default language is English and you set google up to search in english doesnt mean all results will be on english only sites. HAve you tried a cached page or see if there is a translation? Have you tried a restore point, repair install and everything else to rule out that it is just this page and not something else?

dear members of tech-forums, thx for your reply and sorry for not replying.. been busy with work lately.

first off,

@Osiris

I did a scan before and couldnt find anything that shouldnt be there, there. anyway, i'll post out the log for your reference. perhaps you could hit something that i've missed out/ or update my knowledge base with something that you assume might be causing the problem. thx for volunteering to have a look-see. =]

@Mak213
well
1)cached pages dont work as well
2)i have all languages installed on my xp sp2 os
3)about the search part in english.. well, based on assumption, whether it is in languages other than english, i assume that the layout for the default search would be the same, eg. search box - top left corner, list of searches bottom, etc.
4)about restore point, i havent tried it due to me not knowing when it was last working well. I've been posting it off for a long time now.. lol
5)repair install, i have no idea what that would mean.. sorry bout that.. if it was repair, im not really sure which ocx, dll, etc i need to repair
6)well, yea, it seems to be only the google search that is having problems when i try to look for stuff like flv, avi, mpg, etc. i can confirm that as long as i use a search engine to look these abbr up, there is always a problem here. but google was the 1 that was obvious. if it were others, eg. yahoo, msn, etc, upon clicking submit, query, etc, the page wont change. it shows done (bottom left in status bar) without even searching and im stuck on that page as if i hadnt submitted my search.

I'm not sure how to post my hjt log (attachment or post in text format), but for now, i hope im not breaching any r&r by posting it as a post.

Post below contains the log since i do not want to mix my replies and log in the same post.
