"Search" Does not work. Help

On my computer I press Start, Search and when I do this nothing comes up. My animated seach dog is not there, nothing is. Whats can I do?

Have you scan for any spywares, do a hijack log? You might want to consider doing a repair or reinstalling Windows and starting fresh would be a better idea. Make sure you backup your data first.

So it might have just been an error that happened when the OS was being installed?

Thank you for the quick reply and I will scan for spyware and viruses before i go as far as reinstalling the OS.
