For some unknown reason (my wife swears she hasn't touched my computer) everytime i boot up the computer these two items are on my toolbar. I "uncheck" them and re-start my computer and there they are again. It's been doing this for about a week and is starting to get annoying, what should i do?

Hi,

Can't explain why "all of a sudden" ... but I did read an article that suggested that a recent trip to Windows Update may trigger this action... may be a part of the IE6 SP?

Check this article for info on the "privacy" aspect of the XP Search Assistant:

I'm not near an XP machine right now so all I can do is offer up some links that might help. I suggest that you also do a search on google or the MS Knowledge Base for answers.

Not sure exactly what you mean by the "Quick Launch" reference but try a similar search on google for this term.

Good luck!
