Scrollbars Don't Work

I am having to type this from my Kindle. Whenever I try to scroll down, they scroll right back up. My scroll wheel has no effect, and whenever I use the buttons on the touchpad or mouse, they don't work. I did just get done banging my mouse on a table twice, but no obvious damage to it on the outside (I was gettimg rather upset with my computer).

Please help.
