Default Screen Flips

I have a Dell 5160 running Windows XP. My screen will flip down like the "page Down" button (sometimes up) has been pushed. It also does it while reading a webpage online.

As I am graduate student, this is quite irritating while I am typing in Word.

What could be causing this to happen? Is there a diagnostic I can run or does anyone know of a downlaod fix for similar issues?

Thanks so much.

pressing the space bar will scroll down on a webpg. make sure your not pressing the spacebar. or clean your keyboard.

This happens whether I am touching any part of the computer or not. I can be simply reading a site or a paper I am reviewing in Word and it will flip (usually down). I am not touching the touchpad or its sides when it occurs.

Thanks for the thoughts...should I contact Microsoft or Dell?
