If you boot the machine in safe mode,, that is hit F8 at the post,, you should be able to get a more "normal" startup,, granted that no drivers are loaded ,, you will be able then to go into the control panel>systems> Device Manager to get to the Display adapter properties,,,
once you find out what the video card in that unit is,, you will need then to get net access to download the driver,,not an easy task considering that the video driver could be in excess of 2.5 mb,, and that would mean burn to cd,,or portable USB harddrive to copy to your machine,,
you have a bit of work set out before you,, as in the previous posts,, i am sure by now that you have seen that emachines are not great, but affordable,, winME is a pain in the ass,, and unless you like working with the performance of a 486, 32mb of ram will make your hair turn grey waiting,,,
