Default scandisk in winxp pro

how do I check a hdd for errors in winxp? is there an application or command line?

type chkdsk c: /f from the command prompt. if the drive is in use (ex. its drive c: and windows is running) you can schedule chkdsk to run the next reboot.

or you can open my computer, right click on your hard drive, go properties - then go to tools and click on error checking.
