Default saving or opening a download?

You know when you click for a download,... and it says you wanna save or open it? well i accidently clicked the square that says don't ask anymore and clicked open.. how can i get it back to square one.. because some files i want to just open, others i want to save? any help would be awsome!

Have u tried "restore defaults" and "restore web settings" in internet options?

eh, actually i tried that due to your advice, now i can't download when the server tries to send me a file =/

What happens when u try to download? Are u getting the download box now?

no hehe... like nothing pop-ups, it won't even open the file

it used to just open the file (download and open) not giving me an option to save it, because i click that box... now .. nothing

but what i noticed, it was on zip file types.. that it won't do that now.. maybe i'll look into winzip and check out that.. see if there's an option in there

Oops, ur problem has gone worse. Cant say whats wrong. Try reinstallin IE.

no. sometimes thinga are being automatically downloaded without a popup showing up. check the status bar at the bottom and see if it says downloading and have a file icon next to it. you can choose to save a file by right-clicking and choose Save Target As...
