Saving DOC format in open office 2.0.2

Hey all, I have been using Open Office 2.0.2 for uite some time now on Linux and Windows. I have to do alot of pepers and stuff and it would be helpful if there was some way that I could get Open Office to save in the Microsoft office .doc format as default. I want to do this in Windows mostly but if there is a method that works with Linux too I am ok with that.
