when i was using Adobe Reader 6.0.x, i had an option of pritning a document (.doc, .xls, etc) to PDF file. when i upgraded it to v.7.0.x, and got rid of v.6.0.x, i no longer had no option. was that a snap-in or something of adobe reader? how can i save documents in pdf format without relying on a 3rd party application?

It sounds like you had Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional which is also a Writer. Adobe 7 Reader is just a reader and cant perfom those functions. If you do have Adobe 7 Professional, I'll let you know tonight when I get home so I can look at mine.

if you have the adobe cd, you can prolly install the PDF writer while perfoming a custom install.
