sansa e250 mp3/Vista problems

Vista Home Basic complains that it needs a driver for my mp3 player.
I have the device in MTP mode and IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.

Does anyone have a solution?

What MP3 Player? Did it come with software? Have you checked for updated software on the website?

yes when i pop in the disc after it says "let windows search the disk for drivers"
it fails
and sandisks website does not list any drivers for the mp3 player.

Drivers might not be Vista-compliant

Is there a way to update and firmware or anything on the device. It sounds as if the device is XP compatible but not Vista compatible.
