Default Safe Mode Problem

HI,

I just tried to access safe mode, and for some reason, it did not work. It started loading all of the files, and stopped at one called Mup.sys. I waited for about 5 minutes, and nothing happened. How do I repair my safe mode? I am running under Windows XP Home edition, but I do not have the cd, so I cannot repair or anything like that. Is there anywhere I can download the files to replace my damaged ones?

Thanks,
Shane

using any usb2.0 cards? can u get into recovery consol? if you can get to the recovery consol then at the prompt type:

disable mup <enter>

try it after this, mup is for novell server connection crap. unless you connect to a novell server, its not needed.
